A CNC Mill is a machine that uses rotary cutters to remove material. It take items we design in software's and bring them to life.
The type of mill that we have in the lab is a Tormach PCNC 440.
Three things that I have learned about the PCNC 440 is that, to create items you have to use the software Fusion 360. I also learned that the PCNC 440 is the smallest of the Tormach mills. The third thing I learned is that the spindle spins at 10,000 RPM's.
The software used to create items is Fusion 360.
If I could make anything in the mill I would create a set of chess pieces.
In conclusion I learned a lot about the CNC Mill and how it oprates. I learned that the spindle goes at 10,000 RPM's and that you have to use the Fusion 360 software. This was a lot of very new stuff to me and I found it all very interesting. I am very excited to use the CNC Mill in the future.
